Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT Batang) is one of the National Strategic Projects located in Batang Regency, Central Java. The support of the Directorate General of Highways for the development of the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate is manifested by the construction of roads within the area and access roads, one of which is Package I.4 - Road Construction of The Batang Integrated Industrial Estate. This package is a crash program of a 19.17 km rigid pavement road construction that must be completed in 8.5 months with a budget of IDR 619 billion. Therefore, innovative work methods are required to support the acceleration work. The sliding formwork method for making U-Ditch is one of the innovations developed by this package. When compared to the conventional in situ cast method, the use of sliding formwork produces quality that meets specifications, dimensions that match shop drawings, and aesthetically looks better. The implementation cost is lower because the sliding formwork method does not require the use of heavy equipment to shift the formwork panels. U-Ditch work productivity can be increased from 24 meters per day to 48 meters per day per worker group. The sliding formwork innovation can be applied in other construction projects, because road projects are identical to channel work. The dimension adjustment can be made according to the project channel design. Innovation in the implementation of construction work is one form of awareness of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in the nation’s development.
